Try a Detox Diet
There are umpteen assorted varieties of detox programs, but we have discovered that one healthy approach is a raw vegetable and fruit detox diet. Doing a detox diet is a good alternative to simple fasting, which can produce too immediate a detox reaction. Rapid detoxification can be more than unpleasant. It can be hazardous. As I often say, “detoxing can be hazardous to your health” - if you do it improperly.
Rather than detoxing by way of fasting, I advise a wholesome detox diet, whereby you restrain your food intake for a short period to only fruits and vegetables. I also advocate you buy licensed organic fruits and vegetables. Consume a bowl of fruit in the morning and steamed veggies or a salad in the evening.
The quantity of veggies and fruit you have during your detox weekend is your choice. I may consume a piece of fruit each hour in the morning, then have a big salad at lunchtime. And then I will eat some vegetable miso soup or lightly steamed veggies for dinner.
Detox shouldn’t be a difficult experience. Make this an enjoyable experience. Buy wonderful fruit and savor it. Be extravagant and playful.
So, treat your body to a detox diet weekend and you’ll receive the benefits of a regular detox without harsh detox side effects or unavoidable food cravings that a detox with vegetable juice can hasten.
