WSOP
The World Series of Poker, 2010 edition just to clarify, finally saw it’s first double bracelet winner this past weekend.
Frank Kassela of Memphis, Tenn., captured the $2,500 buy-in Seven-Card Razz event early Thursday morning at the Rio, topping a 365-player field and earning $214,085. Kassela won his first gold bracelet two weeks ago in the Seven-Card Stud High-Low Split championship.
According to official records, Kassela now has two wins, three final table appearances, and six in the money finishes at the WSOP, giving him career earnings of $764,144.
With 17 events remaining in the World Series of Poker, Kassela has a chance to tie the record of three for most wins at a single online poker tournament. Five players share the record.
When day one of the Seven Card Razz event concluded, Kassela was in last place, 105th out of 105 players, but he battled back into contention on the second day of the four-day event.
It will obviously be very difficult for Kassela to win three titles during a single WSOP, but here’s to wishing him good luck. Obviously it’s something very few players have been able to do, but maybe we’ll witness history during this year’s WSOP.
