Naveen Jain: Expanding His Business Horizons

Intelius Chief Executive Officer and cofounder Naveen Jain has expanded his Bellevue-headquartered information commerce empire with new acquisitions and new offices. These add-ons support the growing number of clients requesting background checks, people search, screening and verification services - Intelius’ prime products. The company has been in the information security business for six years and has gathered a considerable following since Naveen Jain and a couple of colleagues from former company InfoSpace decided to establish the firm in 2003.

Thanks to Naveen Jain’s exceptional business acumen, the company is looking at the possibility of going public. It recently filed an initial public offering (IPO) in January 2008 worth $143M, under the proposed NASDAQ title INTL. Naveen Jain, who has an impeccable record in entrepreneurship, constantly searches for ways to upgrade the firm’s technology by considering the potential of promising small startups in its immediate vicinity. The growth and success the firm has enjoyed over the years resulted to several adjustments. From the two floor spaces the firm is currently renting in plush Bellevue, an expansion unit in Bothell, Washington will now accommodate an increasing customer base and workforce. Shortly after the IPO filing, the significant acquisition of people search engine Spock was announced, a move expected to pump up the firm’s people search capability and customer base.

In hindsight, it has been a slow and sure climb for Naveen Jain and his firm. By all indications, the prospects look greater after the company stayed sturdy despite the downhill climb of the economy.

Known for making waves in the tech industry, Naveen Jain is an India-born engineer-turned-entrepreneur who took former company InfoSpace far ahead into the dot com boom. In 2000, his $2.2 billion fortune allowed him to join the Forbes Magazine’s Richest Americans. With his business skills and technical expertise, there is little doubt that the future has much in store for Naveen Jain.
