How To Get A Toddler To Eat Fish

Getting a toddler to eat something that is good for them, or
that you think they should eat, should not become a battle of
wills, but it often does. Sometimes with children, the
presentation is everything, and they forget what is underneath
the fanciful decorations or shapes. Fish is one of the few foods
that doesn’t lend itself well to disguises that are cute. But
you can make it an undercover favorite with a little creative
cooking that the kids and even Mom and Dad will enjoy. First,
you will need to ask yourself how important it is that your
child has fish. If you really want them to eat it, you may have
to be willing to give way on other issues such as how it is
prepared. There are a variety of frozen food companies that
present fish in stick, and even fish shapes. But these are
wrapped in crumbs, and sometimes partly deep friend before you
cook them in the oven. This might not be ideal, but if they will
eat it, and get the taste of fish, it may open the door to
other, and better choices. The other options are mostly those
that appeal to taste. An excellent way of serving fish is in a
sauce. A fillet of haddock can be baked quite nicely with just
mushroom or another creamed soup poured over it. If you cut off
a child size portion, you can even decorate it with some curls
of celery for hair, and sliced pickles for eyes before serving.
Use your imagination here. A lot of children love cheese. Bake
your fish until it’s half done and then cover it in shredded
cheddar cheese. Not only do they absolutely get the taste they
like, but the extra protein that cheese offers them.

Stay at Home Jobs and Home Based Businesses - Dream Come True or Nightmare?

Stay at home jobs and home based businesses have never had as much appeal as they have today. Chucking the nine-to-five grind to stay at home is a dream that appeals to most of us. Really, you think, what’s not to like about not having to dress up, fight traffic, and endure bosses who lean over your shoulder every minute of the day?

It’s easy to think a stay at home job or a home based business would be a dream come true, and for many people it is. Realistically, though, a stay at home job is just like any other jobyou have to actually to work. And statistics show that people who have stay at home jobs and home based businesses generally work more hours per day than their counterparts who work in conventional businesses.

One problem that many people who work at stay at home jobs or who have home based businesses run into is what’s often referred to as “feast or famine syndrome.” They find their workflow is either too low or too high; in other words, they either have a lot to do or nothing. This makes it hard for people to budget their time and their money, and is especially hard for people just beginning stay at home jobs or home based businesses. It takes time to develop a steady base of clients for stay at home businesses, and even then there will be many times where everyone wants your product and/or service at the same time. This can be very stressful when there’s only one person, you, to do everything. So if you’re planning on starting a stay at home job or home based business, it’s good to have a plan in place to help you deal with what can often be a roller coaster workload.

The feast or famine syndrome of a stay at home job or business leads to another difficulty. When you’re feasting, you’re making moneywhen you not feasting, you aren’t. It’s hard. One week you’re raking in the money, and the next week you’re barely squeaking by. This is where a stay at home job or home based business can, again, be more stressful than a conventional job where you’re paid on schedule and know exactly how much you’ll be bringing in every month. To deal with this, first of all, you need to have some money in the bank before leaving your regular job for a stay at home job or to start a home based businessor to focus on that stay at home job or home based business that you’ve been working at part-time. Experts recommend that you have enough money saved to cover six months of expenses before leaving your job for any reason. This is especially important for people who want to stay at home and work or to start a home based business because it can greatly reduce the stress that comes with feast or famine syndrome and give you some much needed breathing room.

Too, people who have a stay at home job or home based business often run into payment problems. You’ve done your work or provided your service and product, but you don’t get paid. Collection can be a nightmare when this happens. And what many people don’t know when they become stay at home workers or owners of home based businesses is that people who hire you may classify you as an independent contractor and pay you as far out as 90 days. To make sure you don’t run into payment issues, always get everything in writing. It’s hard to wait 90 days to get paid, but it’s even harder not to get paid at all and perhaps have to turn to a collection agency in order to get your money. Because many stay at home jobs and home based businesses are Internet-based, you need to take special precautions to know you’re dealing with reputable businesses with a good track record of payment. So do your homework and get all payment terms in writing before providing any stay at home work or home based business product or service. The headaches and stress this will save you is immeasurableand ensures you’re more likely to believe that your stay at home job or home based business really is your dream come true.

Brushes with Greatness

Your best and least expensive tools are your very own fingers. How do you use them appropriately and effectively for a natural looking makeup application? First and foremost, wash your hands! You can easily transfer bacteria onto your face causing breakouts or worse, you might transfer bacteria directly into the makeup causing it to grow and multiply. Yuck. Use a delicate, gentle touch, especially around your eyes and avoid tugging or pulling your skin.

Brushes are the second best tools to complete your makeup tool-kit. Invest in a good set of various brushes for cheeks, eyes, brows and lips. Look for brushes that are soft to ensure a gentle application. Brushes provide the least harmful way to transfer makeup to the face.

Brush Types:
Powder Brush-The largest brush in the set. It is used to blend or to apply loose powder and cheek color. It can also be used to soften the foundation coverage.

Cheek Color Brush-Also a large fluffy brush. If possible, try to avoid using the brush that comes with the compact. Typically those brushes are too small and hard, leaving streaks of color on the face. Using a larger brush will help you blend for a more natural look.

Eye Shadow Brushes-There are several types of eye color brushes. However, two simple brushes are probably all you will need. One that is slightly slanted for application in the crease and another for applying color to the entire lid.

Lip Brush-A brush is a great way to use up the last bit of your favorite lipstick. You can also precisely cover your lips without disturbing the lip liner. A small retractable lip brush can be very handy to keep in your purse. Many brands of lip balm come in small jars or tins, requiring you to use your fingers for application. However, if your hands not particularly clean, you run the risk of contaminating the product and transferring bacteria to your lips.

Eyebrow Brush-Used to keep your eyebrows under control. Try applying a little clear mascara to keep your eyebrows in place. A fuller brow is “in” now, but we don’t want you looking like a mad scientist. Just follow the arch that nature has already provided you. Clean up the stray hairs under you brow and above the bridge of your nose.

Caring for your brushes:

You probably know what I am going to tell you by now. You must wash your brushes regularly. Gently and carefully wash with warm water and mild dish soap or baby shampoo. Wash the bristles only. Never soak the brushes as that might loosen the glue that holds them together. Rinse until the water runs clean. Let the brushes air dry standing up in a cup. (Laying them down on a tissue will leave dampness on the area facing down and may pick up tissue particles.)

Have a great day!

The History of Popcorn

Popcorn is loved by young and old today. Popcorn itself dates
back many centuries. It is believe by many historians that
popcorn first came from Mexico. The oldest ears of corn have
been found to come from a Bat Cave in west central Mexico around
the year of 1948. It was here that Cachise Indians dating back
to 2,500 B.C. are thought to have grown and eaten popcorn.
History shows a funeral urn also found in Mexico from 300 A.D.
that shows a picture of a maize god. The picture depicts this
god holding some form of popcorn headdress. Popcorn kernels have
also been found off the east coast of Peru as well.

The surprising fact about popcorn is that it was introduced to
the Europeans by many Native American tribes. These English
colonists were introduced to popcorn at the first Thanksgiving
feast. The natives presented the popcorn as a gift of goodwill
to the English settlers. Another interesting fact is that after
the Europeans were introduced to popcorn we see the creation of
breakfast cereal as they had the idea to mix the popcorn with
milk and sugar.

Today there are a number of ways to pop popcorn. However, one of
the earliest ways to make popcorn was to toast it over an open
fire until it began to pop. The American Indians would pierce
the center of the cob with something sharp then they would
spread some form of oil over the cob and lay it almost in the
fire. This would cause the kernel to pop attached to the ear.

Today there are other ways of making popcorn. There is the older
method of using a popcorn popper where the loose kernels are
poured into an electric device that heats the kernels and pops
them. Butter can be melted on top of the machine and then can be
poured over the popcorn. The most common way of making popcorn
today however is through the use of a microwave. Most popcorn
companies are producing microwave popcorn. The popcorn itself is
in a bag and placed in the microwave, as it is heated the
kernels pop inside the bag. After about two to three minutes you
have a bag full of great tasting popcorn.

What is Intution and How do I use it?

Intuition is an incredible resource and gift that we have been given to help us live our best life. Unfortunately, not many people know what it is or how to use it. The word intuition means “in to you” in Latin. Florence Scovel, a theologian, once said, “Intuition is the spiritual faculty that doesn’t explain; it seemingly points the way.” It’s also been said that intuition is your divine Spirit talking to you. If you will stop for a moment and acknowledge this, you will begin to realize the incredible perspective you have at your fingertips. You have this very amazing power! And you don’t even have to get any special training to start using it. All you need to do is raise your awareness about it and set your intention to harness it.

Intuitive messages range from an inkling to a strong sign or message. Your inner self is persistent and consistent. It will keep trying to get your attention until you finally wise up! An inkling is like a glimmer or passing feeling/ thought that comes from somewhere inside and usually proceeds a hunch or intuitive message. A “hunch” is accurate information from a higher intelligence; therefore, you can rely on it. An intuitive message ranges from hearing actual words, seeing a clear picture, or a deep inner knowing. Some people experience intuition as a feeling, others a gut reaction, others will see images or have a dream, others hear an actual message. Become familiar with how your inner self communicates with you. Once you receive the message, check it out with your research and common

The best ways to get in touch with your intuition are:

1. Be quiet

Practice taking time out every day to experience silence. Calm your mind with traditional or active meditation. Release your need to think, analyze, and know everything. The best information comes from the deep recesses of your soul.

2. Be open

Open to the gift of intuition and accept what is has to tell you. Many times, our ego thinks it has it “all figured out,” but your true path may look very different than the one you are on. Being open to new possibilities and ways of living is key.

3. Be creative

There are many ways to be creative, painting, writing, dancing, designing a website, etc. Do something that helps you get into the “flow,” that place where time seems to fly by and the work is leading you. Creativity is an expression of your soul and goes hand-in-hand with intuitive guidance.

4. Ask questions

When you ask yourself questions, you gain additional insight and clarity. When you ask a question like “What is the next step I need to take?” know that you already know what you need to know. Trust yourself. You already have everything you need inside.

5. Journal

When you write, you tap into thoughts, feelings, ideas and direction that you are not consciously aware of. Writing allows the truth to come forth and is an easy way to gain insight from your inner self.

You can further develop your intuitive guidance by preparing yourself by gathering the necessary information and experiences to provide more of an opportunity for your intuition to surface. Intuition cannot be forced; you need to allow it. After loading up your mind with information about the issue, give your intuition time to work on it. And then become open to the answer. You will likely experience an “Aha” moment, which is a moment of instant awareness, where the answer sprouts from “out of the blue.”

If you have an important decision to make and are not 100% sure about something happening, stop and think before making a decision. Usually this is your intuition trying to tell you that something is not quite right. Likewise, if you feel that you should go for it, do it, so you don’t miss a valuable opportunity.

Intuition is your very own best friend. It is always there for you. It waits patiently for you. It gives the absolute best advice, and all you have to do is ask! Like any good friendship, all it takes to nurture it is a little time and attention. If you decide to be close and intimate with your intuition, I promise that your life will transform into something wonderful.
